Another excellent flashback for me. My mom and I moved to Bakersfield in 1956. The Bakersfield sound was already beginning in the form of Cousin Herb’s Trading Post on the local tv station. I didn’t know then but I’ve come to realize how many country stars were there or got their start on that program. Jelly Sanders on the fiddle. Rose and Cal Maddox singing and playing. I believe Buck Owen’s got his start on that show too. Five nights a week. It’s a bit ironic since I drifted to rock and roll but ended up making a living playing country many years later. I learned to appreciate the talent of many country players much later in life.

I went to college in TX. My drug dealer was Pantera's drug dealer. I almost got into a fight with dime at one of his Halloween parties. My buddy and I decided it was better to leave than fight dimebag in his own house at his own party. ✔️🤣
